The Falklands War

The Westland Scout & Wasp AH.1 Helicopters were developed from the Saunders-Roe P.531 and the first pre-production example flew on 29th August 1960.
Around 250 of these helicopters were built in all and this website is dedicated to the history of this classic British designed rotorcraft which stayed in service until the late 1980's. The aim here is to bring all the information availiable together for the benefit of owners ,enthusiasts and anoraks!
This is a works in progress and information will be added as I find it. You can follow the progress of the restoration of my own Scout XP853. If you think you have any parts, information or photo's that might help please contact me.
